Bio

Pause comes from a generation of hip-hop producers raised on the eclectic, gritty, "Golden Age" style of hip hop, but is current enough to be immersed and well-versed in the modern tools, software and sounds available today. "That's what being a part of the new generation of recording artists is all about," says Pause. "Having no limits and no excuses. I feel pretty lucky that I can dive into my record collection and cut you up something fresh on the MPC and then compose a full orchestral strings section for the track using software."

A multi-instrumentalist and accomplished songwriter of all genres, Pause has spent the majority of his 11 years in LA working with top publishers and licensing companies in town, playing in various bands, and essentially doing everything BUT working on his own music. Finally in 2012, after much encouragement from friends and collaborators Double K (People Under the Stairs) and Indy One (Aesthetics Crew), Pause inked a deal with INgrooves to distribute his debut album Pacific Rose. Three years later the record's popularity hasn't stopped climbing. Just in 2015 Pause has already licensed tracks to over a dozen companies for commercial use. In total, tracks from Pacific Rose have found their way into greater than 50 (combined) movies, commercials, video games, documentaries, skateboard videos, etc. -- both in the US and overseas. More notable US placements include the Showtime hit-series Ray Donovan ("Shouts Out"), as well as a major spot in the video game Saints Row IV (Caroline).

With Pacific Rose still rapidly gaining popularity every day, and what Pause calls the most complete, well-produced project of his career -- No Small Order -- set to launch, the future for the gifted songwriter looks to be brighter than ever.
